What are the benefits of taking Barley Grass or Wheat Grass?

Barley and Wheat grass powders are a concentrated source of vegetable greens, essential to life. Chlorophyll, for natural cleansing of the blood and support to the immune system, and Beta Carotene, the precursor of Vitamin A, are present in highly significant quantities. Barley and Wheat Grass powders are alkaline foods. Alkaline foods keep the body from losing bone calcium.

Barley Grass and Wheat Grass contain significant levels of anti-oxidants. We have known of the presence of the antioxidant superoxide dis-mutase, but the presence of Vitamin E succinate, an analogue of alpha-tocopherol, and an even more powerful anti-oxidant," 2"-O-glycosyl isovitexin, which is an isoflavonoid have been reported. Although isoflavonoids are potential therapeutic "anti-estrogens", they have significant antioxidant value as well.

Barley Grass and Wheat Grass are a valuable source of the natural form of folates and folic acid. It is an essential B vitamin, that helps help prevent neural tube defects like spina bifida. Barley Grass and Wheat Grass contain significant levels of Omega-3 alpha linolenic fatty acid. About 70% of the fat present in Barley and Wheat grass is Omega-3. Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid necessary for brain development and visual acuity.

What are the benefits of Spirulina and Alfalfa?

Spirulina is a microscopic blue - green algae, cultured in shallow open ponds. Spirulina contains concentrations of organic nutrients including: Vitamins and minerals (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12.) Beta-carotene, vitamin E, Iron, Manganese and Zinc. Enzymes, trace elements, 67% easily digestible proteins, all the essential amino acids and nucleic acids (RNA & DNA). It also contains an array of natural antioxidants and phyto-nutients and an abundant source of chlorophyll.

I have a wheat intolerance can I still take it?

Contrary to popular opinion, Barley and Wheat Grass do not contain gluten. Essential Greens is Gluten Free.

dosage

Adults: Add one teaspoon Organic Essential Greens to juice or water.

Children: Add a half teaspoon to water or juice.

For those with an illness or convalescing it is recommended to increase to two teaspoons daily, usually morning and evening.

Essential Greens can also be added to breakfast smoothies.
