Indications
Chromium is an essential micronutrient for humans. It plays a role as a co-factor in all insulin-regulated activities including carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism.  Chromium is particularly important for normal carbohydrate metabolism and assists in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels, by aiding the transport of glucose from the blood into the cells. Indeed, chromium is well known for the important role it plays in the regulation of fluctuating blood sugar levels. Diets high in simple sugars or refined carbohydrates may have increased chromium requirements. Athletes or those involved in strenuous exercise may also have an increased requirement for chromium and may benefit from supplementation.
